In Between Time & Consciousness- Welcome to the 11th Month
Jan 18 - Feb 17, 2026 : 11th Lunar Month, Ianaurius
Starting on January 18 we enter the liminal space, a sacred passage, a time that exists neither fully in what was nor what will be. Entering into the 11th month of Ianaurius, named after Janus—the two-headed God who guards the threshold between past and future. He oversees portals, passage, gates, and transitional time. This God gives January its name.
The nature of this month marks the passage from past into future. Its key themes are purgatory, purification, and preparation of the channels.
The Romans understood this deeply. To pass through a gate in January was not merely a physical act—it was a ritual at the crossroads, a conscious crossing from one phase of time into another.

THE SACRED THEMES
The 11th month carries within it three primary currents:
Purgatory — The space between the past and future
Purification — The work of cleansing and purification
Preparation — The opening of channels for what is to come
We exist in “the in-between”—the ethereal boundary between reflection and intention, between what was, and what is to come. Marking the space between conscious transition. Spiritually it is the borders between worlds, the space beyond time, and the edges of becoming. Cosmically these forces shift the mind into dreamy states, lethargy, and cloudy vision is to be expected. It’s about laying the right seeds in preparation. Let’s tuck deeply into the ‘in-between’ and see what is revealed in both past and future.
Celestial themes play out throughout the month and will unfold through the phases of the moon. When the Sun and Moon meet in Capricorn and Pleiades shines along the ecliptic, then we have entered into the 11th month. By aligning ourselves to this rhythm, we remain connected to the celestial influence within mind, body, and land. Themes were intertwined within the agricultural duties, and were never seen as separate. Equally it is through us we carry the celestial influences.
The 11th month, carried preparation of irrigation, planting specific seeds, and laying compost- preparation for future abundance.

Preparation & Invocation
Janus presided over the start and finish of almost everything. His gates opened during war and closed during peace. He was invoked before rituals, transitions in lifecycles, and the opening of commerce. He was the key to the flow of life.
Romans invoked Janus first in every prayer and sacrifice—even before Jupiter, king of the gods—to ensure that communication “began” correctly and could reach the divine realm- clearing the channels of communication and invocation. He’s guardianship was critical to protecting the flow of life, new life, and the passage of the old. This is how we move through January. Not fixated to what is, or overly invested in the future. Preparation is key, much of this is clearing- cleaning spaces, the body, the mind, and feeding oneself with nourishment, as we do the soil. Do not take on too much, do not over burden your resources. January and Janus, ensure that you cross with only what is necessary.
On January 19th-20th, call to Janus, stand at your doorway, or the crossroads before your house and give gratitude and ask for safe passage into this coming year. Give thanks for future blessings flowing your way. Ask for an open mind and if you have a new endeavor on the horizon in 2026, ask for the blessings of ‘the first step’.
As the ‘Keeper of Passage’ Janus guarded roads, ports, and doorways. This thresholds symbolized the opening to new life cycles, the space of spirit to traverse through different states of being. It is when we clear the way for spirit.
Another key aspect of the ‘in-between’ is divination. Represented and honored the Goddess Carmenta, protector of childbirth and goddess of divination. So too, we see the same theme in her presence during the 11th month. Protection of new life-to be birthed, and the vision to see between time. Her vision was said to reveal future and the past, to see outcomes. On Carmenta’s days, (listed below) the veil is thin, prophesy rests at your gateway, tune in.

→ Bless your doorways with intention and reverence, you can lay flowers, or crystals
→ Cleanse the crossroads in front of your home (crossstreets). Sweep & clean under doors, windows, and walkways/driveways to your home. Lay salt on the New Moon, Sweep it up on the 19th, throw it away outside in water, a distant field, somewhere away from your home.
